Webb8 feb. 2024 · Have had a Marlin 336 in .30-30 since 1973. Great rifle and works just as good as it did 45 years ago. Have not used it as a deer rifle in quite a long time, but inside 100 yards with open sights, it did it's job if I did mine. Still has great fit and finish if you ignore a few minor dings and scratches from being in the field and deer stands. The gun is in immaculant condition and I thought was a bargain for 250 bucks. However, upon returning home and loading a couple of rounds of Hornaday in it, it would not chamber either of the bullets. Webb25 nov. 2024 · The 336 comes with a traditional hammer-block safety. This is a bit redundant on a lever action rifle, but it does make for a very safe gun. With the safety on, even if you cock the hammer and drop it, the gun will not go bang.
